I've been talking so much about vacation photography that I think its time to elaborate a little bit on what that encompasses. As I said in my 2017 Goals post, is there really anything more suited for me photographically than capturing memories of adventures and escapades in new places? Here are a few vacation and destination photography collections I'm introducing to my business this year: 

Vacation Photography

That's the name of this post so I'll start here! I don't know about you, but when I go on vacation, I'm always the one taking pictures, so I either have to ask random strangers to take a photo that includes me, or I'm just the forgotten person in the photos. And then of course when I do end up in group shots thanks to random strangers, these end up being all posed photos rather than candid shots of enjoying the vacation. I can't be the only one, right? Wouldn't it be nice to save all your vacation memories (of the whole group!) to enjoy long after the tan lines have faded without having to constantly stop having fun to take said pictures? That's where I come in! Whether a family trip to the beach, a tour of our national parks, a European vacation or a backpacking excursion, I would travel with you, documenting the adventure not only with images, but with blog posts as well, all of which would culminate in a beautiful vacation book like this.

Asheville Vacation Photography

This is also great for Asheville adventures. From brewery tours to Parkway hikes to walking through the River Arts District or traversing the Biltmore Gardens, I can candidly photograph your experience, capture gorgeous professional group and individual portraits in quintessential Asheville locations, and even lend my experience in planning your trip! As always, I will weave the images - both candid and posed - and text - my narrative, locations and anything else you'd like to include - into one unique album so you can relive your experience years later. 

Destination Weddings

This coverage would be similar to a vacation photography collection, but with a wedding thrown in! Its likely if you're taking the  trouble to bring your friends and family with you to what would traditionally have been called an elopement, you want them to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience as well. So why limit the fun family photographs to wedding portraits when you can include them in the whole destination experience? In this way, you can not only get the gorgeous destination wedding photos that you're looking for - those Maine beach sunsets, the iconic Eiffel Tower background, a kiss atop the cliffs in Scotland - but also document your whole experience from pre-wedding festivities touring your destination to post-wedding celebrations letting loose and truly enjoying family time in a fun place. And, we could even include a few portrait sessions (both family and couple) throughout your trip. 

Elopements

These are, at the moment, what I'm most interested in photographing. Elopements traditionally were just about running off to get married quickly and quietly and forgoing most of the wedding process. But, as the elopement trend takes hold and people are realizing they can still have that once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience without having to overspend or be the center of attention, couples are realizing they can still keep their elopement as their own little exciting experience without having to sacrifice gorgeous photos in the name of simplicity. As with my other vacation and destination collections, I would capture the full trip for my eloping couples, from engagement photos before the ceremony in a location other than your hometown to adventures celebrating your newly-minted marriage and of course the intimate ceremony in between. And, of course, this collection includes a gorgeous photo album; a mix of my more traditional wedding album with your vows included as well as the vacation album with editorial-like trip descriptions to create a completely unique album of your whole experience. 

Landscape and Cityscape Prints

And finally, you can enjoy all the beauty of far away places right in your home. All of my favorite travel images are available for purchase through my website, perfect to fill your home with colorful images. As an added bonus, I also offer a more custom experience with the ability to choose each of the elements (color, size, subject matter) that creates your perfect travel image. Prior to each trip, I will send out a call for commissions so that anyone interested may set up a consultation to decide what images they would like me to capture and bring back for them. For instance, if you have a blank space on your living room wall that is screaming to be decorated, we will take into account the dimensions, color scheme, style and mood of the room, then I will come back from my trip with a selection of up to five varying images for you to choose from to purchase your products. Large-scale prints and canvases are the typical products of choice but I also offer coffee table books, greeting cards, coasters and even digital downloads for computer backgrounds, social media cover photos or stock imagery. I'll be in NYC next weekend and Portland in March for those interested in these two locations!
