"Loved." That's the word that Savannah and Kevin say best describes their relationship. And while that could seem trite at first glance - if you didn't feel loved then why would you be getting married right? - but if you know them, you'll know that "loved" is exactly the right word to describe their deep love for and from each other as well as their deep love for and from Christ, first and foremost. As we started shooting and were warming up into the session, I mostly had them looking at each other to avoid camera shyness; sometimes goofing off (tickle fights!) and sometimes simply having telepathic conversations with their eyes. In both instances, I was able to see that they are just as comfortable having fun and enjoying life together as they are enjoying the romance and importance of their upcoming commitment. 

We'd planned our shoot for mid-October in order to make good use of the changing colors and somehow managed to time it perfectly, enjoying the glorious backdrop of vibrant yellow and orange hues. Savannah picked out 3 perfect fall outfits which we used to create different moods in the pictures to capture the multiple facets of their relationship: casually classy for the more standard portraits, matching flannels to capture their fun and easygoing sides and colorfully dressy to show their spirited and passionate natures.

While I love that we were able to capture so many gorgeous candid looks surrounded by a beautiful backdrop, my favorite shot by far is the final image shown - the near-silhouette with a serendipitously-perfect highlight cast on her gaze. To me, this epitomizes Savannah and Kevin's devoted relationship.

Tomorrow is their big day when they finally get to commit the rest of their lives to each other and I'm so excited to photograph their celebration of love!
